A lively, vibrant still life in the loose, impressionistic style of the movement known as The Gothenberg Colurists. Produced by the prolific and increasingly popular Swedish artist, Svän Grandin (1906–1982) who lived in Borås, close to Gothenburg.

Grandin first worked as a textile worker and sailor before turning to art. Grandin was self-taught and studied during trips to Paris in 1938-1939 and 1946. He debuted in an exhibition with Borås and Sjuhäradsbygden's art association's Autumn Salon in 1936 and subsequently took part in several solo and group exhibitions in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Skara. Grandin is represented at the Borås Art Museum.
