Vintage Abstract Oil Painting by Frederick Henkelman
A vibrant and joyful abstract oil painting dating from the late 1960s by Frederik Henkelman. It is signed by the artist and inscribed on the back, "Skordebild" which means Cropped Picture. There is some biographical info on the artist too.
Henkelmann (Adolf FREDRIK Laurentius, 1903-1987) moved to Stockholm at the age of 17 and for a while was employed at Filip Månsson's decoration company. After working as an all rounder for a few years, he went on to the Technical School - 1927–1928 and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts 1929. Among his public works are church windows and altarpieces for Grundsunda Church and Bengtsfors Church, among others. he is represented at Stockholm City Museum and Borås Art Museum.
