This piece has rich, dark and moody tones and features lively, sketchy markings in a work so typical of the mid-century period. Gerhard attended both Skåne Painting School (Skånska Målarskolan) in Malmö (1940 - 1942) and The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm (1943 -1949). Signed and numbered 40/99. Original frame with an acrylic sheet so safe for shipping.
