Vintage Abstract Painting by Bill Flodin
A good sized vintage abstract painting on board by Bill Flodin. Very typical of Flodin's abstract works of the time were the black compositional lines with which he framed his pictorial objects, often together with abstract structural forms and arabesques. Signed and dated 1968.
Bill Flodin was born in Nordmaling Västerbotten in 1934 and died in Borås in 1976. He is self-taught and undertook various study trips in the Nordic countries, Germany and France. He participated in collective exhibitions in Stockholm, Halmstad and several larger towns in Sweden, as well as separately with a couple of notable exhibitions in Gothenburg and Ulricehamn. Bill Flodin had a style of his own. He did not plagiarize anyone but contained in his paintings his innermost thoughts, which were often fairly dark.
