Shipping

I do not currently offer a standardised shipping service because costs can vary considerably due to size, weight and destination. I can definitely arrange for delivery on all items, however, wherever you are in the world and have found that to save on costs it is best for me to shop around amongst shipping companies for the best and most economical service. Please click on the following link to request a delivery estimate or with any questions about the item If you would like to secure the item then please ‘Add to Cart’ and go through the payment procedure and I will contact you to arrange delivery or collection. Outlined below is a general guide to shipping services and costs.

Within the UK

Smaller and lower value items will be shipped by Royal Mail. If required, and at an extra cost, I offer next day delivery which will be fully insured and be issued with a tracking number by Royal Mail. In most cases, a signature will be required so you will need to give a delivery address where you will be in attendance during working hours. I aim to despatch all items between 2-3 working days.

Larger and high value items will be shipped by freight handlers with specialist knowledge of the antique business. I will contact the company, who are third party, arrange a quote or quotes and then pass on this information to you. The freight handler will contact you to arrange delivery timings and payment. Because these items will need to be carefully packaged I aim to despatch all items between 4-6 working days.

As a guide delivery for larger items can usually be arranged with freight handlers within one week. The fee for this service is usually £50-60 for most freight items (sofas, chests of drawers etc). For deliveries within the London area, there is generally a £50 flat fee. For very large, heavy items this can rise to £60-£70. A surcharge of £10 is applied for delivery to any addresses within the Congestion Zone.

For the rest of the mainland UK (including most of Scotland and Wales) delivery will be within 2-3 weeks. Costs are generally around £55 plus VAT anywhere in the UK. This is a basic economy service and is for delivery to a ground floor with a one man service. Items are delivered 7 days a week, depending on your location on the driver’s route, so some flexibility on your part is required. Delivery for Scotland is around £80 plus VAT and for Northern and Southern Ireland is around £95 plus VAT.
