Vintage Ercol Sideboard in Elm Wood
A beautifully handcrafted piece of furniture designed by Lucian Ercolani for Ercol and made with solid elm wood and showing visible signs of high quality joinery in the open dovetail joints. This sideboard was originally produced in the 1950s with legs and then in the 1960s with castors and obviously, the retailer (Hunters of Derby, whose badge can be seen inside one of the doors) did not like the castors – neither do I! The result is a unique and very elegant version with brass tipped legs.
Height 79cm, Width 155cm, Depth 44cm.
Condition: This exterior surfaces of this piece have been stripped, smoothed and repolished. There is a very small pen mark to the top and a scratch on the right hand side. The lustre, sheen and grain of the wood are gorgeous.
