About Me

I have always been immersed in art and design. My father is an artist and calligrapher and was a lecturer at Camberwell Art School in London, England so I grew up surrounded by artists, designers and craftspeople. I studied Art History at Sussex University in the UK and at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. I worked for ten years as a graphic designer. For the past 15 years I was the co-owner and designer for a well established contemporary jewellery company. I paint, draw, photograph, doodle and design whenever I can. 

In my extensive experience within the creative and retail industries, I have always sought to gain meaningful insight into the real, underlying requirements of my clients. I aim to build lasting relationships with my customers and will hunt down the pieces that best suit your needs and at the price you want to spend. I have lived and worked for varying periods of time in London, Brighton, Glasgow, Paris, Cannes, Prague, Los Angeles and New York and my experiences in these cities have given me first-hand knowledge of regional and global design trends.

I buy work by well-known designers but equally, I will buy anything that takes my fancy, from any period and from any country, but usually dating from the 20th Century. 

I try to buy pieces that are in excellent condition but will also sell pieces “unrestored” and will describe them as such. I have a team of highly experienced framers, restorers, polishers, upholsterers and electricians who refurbish items sympathetically but to modern standards. If a piece is not in a condition you require I can improve on it or modify it according to your budget and tastes.

Pricing and how to buy

I try to keep my margins as low as possible and therefore my products as accessible as possible. I believe in a high turnover of stock. That way I get to travel more and hunt down more glorious gear!
